Last year we had the chance to offer the doubletop model of Max Cuker. This year we have the chance to list one of his Lattice guitar. This n° 100 Anniversary is a lattice guitar very much different from the Australian lattice : the guitar is super light with solid back and sides wood and the bracing is 100% made of wood. The overall craftsmanship is beautiful. The guitar has magnificent inlays all around the top the rose is wonderful. The sound is loud and thick very natural.
The guitar is much closer to a traditional guitar but with the benefit of the lattice.
Here are some spec of the guitar :
- Weight : 1,8 kg
- Back and sides doubled are in flamed maple
- Top: 40-year-old spruce
- Lattice bracing without any carbon inspired by Daniel Friederich bracing
- Bindings, armrest, and head plate in Zebrano – Microberlinia brazzavillensis
- Fingerboard in ebony
- Bridge : Indian rosewood
- Elevated fingerboard with a 20th extra fret
- Scheller tuners
Max is a guitar player and as well a luthier. He makes traditional, lattice and double top guitars and is based in Vilnius Lithuania. He is mostly a self-taught luthier and is focusing most of his research on sound quality. Not surprising that GFA winner Anton Baranov and Tali Roth professor that the New York Julliard college have chosen his guitar.
