Ian Kneip 1995 - Australia

‌ review-kniepp

Ian Kneipp is one of the few luthiers who worked and learned how to make lattice classical guitars with Greg Smallman. As one can expect his guitars are very close to the early Greg guitars. Thick and warm with a strong string separation. Greg’s guitars are dream guitars, Ian’s guitars as well!

Régis Sala Special order 2022 - France

review-sala-102 ‌

For this new Australe model – a model inspired by Greg Smallman’s guitars but with a French touch – Régis has implemented some new features in a view to gain some warmness and sound thickness. This special order is a success: the guitar is loud and offers a warm tone. The top is in cedar and has a wooden frame beneath. The sides are laminated and the back is braced as well. The playability is amazing with a very thin neck. Amazing and a lot of pleasure for the player.

Constantin Dumitriu  2021 - Roumania

review-dumitriu-2021-2 ‌

These days they are many luthiers who are making Greg Smallman type guitar which means a heavy body with lattice braced. We have been blown away by Constantin Dumitriu lattice guitar. The guitar is full of innovations such as a reflector to push the sound outside and a soundport that can be closed.. The sound is loud, warm, and well-balanced. The guitar does not have the boxy sound in the bass that some bad lattice have. The playability is amazing.

Dan Kellaway 2021 - Australia

review-kellaway-2 ‌

The last classical guitar from Dan Kellaway was a killer .. This new spruce top is astonishing. Dan describes his guitars as being an in-between between the Greg Smallman and the Simon Marty. The guitar is surprisingly lighter than the usual lattice and has a very natural sound with however deep basses. Dan has implemented a system to adjust the action by turning a key (like on the Greg Smallman and Sons). Brightness with huge overtones and huge basses which are blowing out of the guitars.

Daniel Friederich 1981 No 530 -France

‌ review-friederich-530

It’s been a long time since we did not find a Daniel Friederich fro the 80s  is such a great condition. The sound is of course what you could expect from a Friederich made during the golden years of Daniel Friederich.  The guitar sings like in a dream with amazing trebles. Most importantly, the condition of the guitar is amazing
