Here is our favourite for 2026: Alessandro Marseglia has been building double-top classical concert guitars in Naples for about 30 years. His guitars are played by numerous famous players, such as Aniello Desiderio or Marco Tamayo. His blends traditional elements with modern construction techniques in order to create instruments that offer the guitarist the widest palette, in terms of sound quality and dynamics. Most importantly, his guitars are among the loudest guitars and offer an amazing musicality.

We have been familiar with Alessandro Marseglia’s guitars for many years, and we are finally delighted to be able to offer you today the latest limited-edition double-top model, unveiled at Roma Expo 2026.

Whilst the majority of Italian luthiers craft traditional guitars, Alessandro has developed Nomex-free double-top guitars that offer impressive dynamics and a thoroughly traditional tone. The result is stunning. The top is made of roasted spruce backed with cedar. The roasting process – a slow heating process – is designed to enhance the sound qualities by burning off any impurities present in the top.

The back and sides are made of Dalbergia Maritima, a wood similar to Madagascar rosewood.
This guitar was made specifically for the Roma Expo Guitar exhibition 2026.
Alessandro Marseglia lives and has been building double-top classical concert guitars for about 30 years. He blends traditional elements with modern construction techniques in order to create instruments that offer the guitarist the widest palette, in terms of sound quality and dynamics, to best express his musicality. I work alone, taking care of every detail personally, in close collaboration with the musicians such as Marco Caiazza.
