When it comes to choosing a guitar, you can’t beat a trial session. The videos with a one minute demonstration,  the test bench or comparisons are there to give you an idea of the sound of the guitar. The idea is to re-create the sound of the guitar as if you were listening to it by being in front of the instrument.

We use a pair of Neumann microphones connected to a mixing desk which has phantom power. All of the knobs for Bass, Treble, Medium and Gain are set to zero and no effect is added, no reverb is added either;  unlike some sites which add reverb and lengthen the sustain giving a richness of sound. Here are some examples of different videos that we have put together for your pleasure:

OUR ONE MINUTE VIDEOS

To test our guitars and to give you a good impression of the sound we proceed with each guitar recording three one minute videos per guitar who’s aim is to show the melodic possibilities of instrument – to make the instrument ring out – with a tune and a predominance of the first chord; the separation of the different voices in the presence of the accompanying notes – arpeggios and chords and finally basses.

OUR TEST BENCH TRIALS

Added to the test videos, you will find some of the guitars have test bench videos and the reason for this is to share with you some of the more pedagogical strong points and weak points of an instrument. The exercise is not easy because it has to be subject to an objective point of view.
