With this new guitar No. 77, Andreas Madimenos continues to develop his concept of the super-powerful guitar. The new No. 77 offers a more natural sound with unrivalled note thickness. The thick notes are complemented by impressive harmonic resonances. The notes seem to last forever. Andreas’ guitars are played by multi-award-winning stars such as Spanish guitarist Rafael Aguirre. As a reference, in the English quartet Aquarelle, guitarist Vasilis Bessas plays a Madimenos, while the other guitarists in the quartet, including Craig Ogden, play Greg Smallman & Sons and two Paul Sheridans, all of which are renowned concert guitars.

Andreas Madimenos is a Greek luthier whose guitars can easily be compared to the best Australian guitars. His guitars are by no means copies, but are simply inspired by certain principles. The result is a beautiful guitar with a round, mellow tone that will appeal to both concert performers and amateurs alike. The variations in tone and volume are astonishing, much to the delight of the performer. With this guitar, Andreas wanted to offer guitarists a certain richness of sound with complex notes that allow them to modulate their playing and literally control the intensity of the sound for a more musical result.

The lattice bracing combined with the luthier’s know-how provides the guitarist with a truly impressive sound depth. A simple pluck of the strings produces thick, full-bodied notes with impressive sustain. The comparison with a piano makes sense, and the pleasure is there.

Andreas Madimenos was born in 1984 in Athens, Greece. At the age of 7, he started playing guitar and later on he completed his music studies. During this time, he also managed to study in Athens University of Economics and Business, earning his Bachelor and Master Degree in Financial sector.

From a very young age Andreas was interested in crafts by wood and on 2014 his passion for guitars led him to Pavlos Gypas workshop.

Andreas Madimenos is a guitar luthier who builds on his own designs and patented structures, utilizing techniques and thoughts of master luthiers. His guitars are made using modern materials and techniques. He gives great attention to detail, on his way to achieve a high-quality instrument. The whole guitar construction (soundboard design, back and sides construction, rosette) is made according to the preferences of each player. All guitar parts are handmade, while Andreas maintains one of the most complete and sophisticated workshops of musical instruments in Greece. His guitars are distinguished by their ease of play, modern, precise and powerful sound.
