Italy is surely a country where you could find the very best traditional guitars in the world. Here is a guitar from Daniele Marrabello who is a young luthier based in Milan. His guitars are inspired by the Spanish Torres guitars with a very light body and develop a huge sound that is simply perfect. The guitar is already amazing and will get better with time because of the spruce. Listen to Philippe’s review, you will love it.
The craftsmanship is top-notch and the guitar is a piece of art. The dynamic is amazing with a strong an immediate response as well a good sustain and plenty of overtones. The guitar is offering that ‘Italian’ sound with warm basses and crystal-clear treble. The playability is amazing.
Here are some information on Daniele Marrabello (abstract from Daniele’s website) :
Daniele speaking : ‘The choice of my profession was a combination of passion and luck. I had not found any interest in pursuing a career in anything I found in high school, so I decided to dedicate myself to the passion I had for music in a way that would give me both small daily satisfactions as well as greater personal gratifications during a career.
I enrolled in the Civic School of Luthiery, which was also conveniently located in my town, Milan. In the first 3 years of the school I learned the basic techniques to build a musical instrument. During the last year of school I went to do apprenticeship in maestro Enrico Bottelli’s shop in Voghera.’
