Leonardo de Gregorio Limited Edition Roma expo 2024 No 255

I was in Roma Expo Guitar this year and was invited to the opening concert of Adriano del Sal (fantastic Italian guitar player), I saw some years ago Adriano in Paris playing his Dammann guitar and was surprised by the sound of his Dammann. In Roma,  Adriano del Sal did not play his Dammann but this brand new double top from Leonardo de Gregorio. The sound was everywhere, full and very loud. Here is the guitar played in concert by Adriano del Sal, a unique Limited Edition guitar specially built for the 2024 Roma Expo Exhibition. The guitar does sound like a Matthias Dammann with a warm and articulate sound. Amazing!

Leonardo de Gregorio is one of a very few Italian luthiers who is not building traditional guitars but one-of-a-kind doubletops. Leornard started as a professional guitar player and graduated with top marks in guitar from the “A. Casella” school in L’Aquila. Casella” school in L’Aquila. He attended masterclasses with Bruno Battisti D’Amario, Massimo Delle Cese and Arturo Tallini at Rome’s Arts Academy. He has taken part in masterclasses with internationally renowned guitarists such as R. Dyens, D. Russel and Assad.
in 2000 he started to build guitars and in 2005 moved to Nomex doubletop guitars. Since 2015 his doubletops guitars are using a secret inner core which brings a warm and natural tone to his guitars.
The sound of this No 255 is very loud and very close to the one of a Mattias Dammann guitar. The basses are deep and thick, the trebles warm. The playability amazing.
