The French luthiers are mostly making traditional braced guitars capitalizing on the famous luthiers such as Daniel Friederich past work. However, there are a few luthiers developing their own ideas of concert classical guitars. Jérémie Geffroy is one of them and here is a preowned double top guitar from 2016 in mint condition. Definitely on the warm side, for those who love the old Spanish dark sound with however the boost of the double-top.
The guitar is not a superlight DT as some of the German guitar. The guitar weighs 1.9 kg which gives enough structure to let the top vibrate freely. This double top is using Nomex but does not have the ‘Nomex sounds that some DT could have. A natural sound with spectacular deep and dark basses and medium. The craftsmanship is perfect since Jérémie Geffroy did work in Cabinet making. He is a detail-oriented luthier for instance he is polishing the inside of the back and sides to protect the wood from any humidity changes and possible cracks.
The guitar is much closer to a traditional guitar and from a DT but with a nice darker sound.
