Nils Schebesta DT No 43 2026 – Germany

Nils Schebesta is part of the younger generation of German luthiers for whom the concept of the double-top design holds no secrets. They are familiar with the great DT models (Dammann, Wagner, etc.), which have now become benchmarks and sources of inspiration. For this DT No. 43, Nils has chosen to use Nomex with spruce and cedar, and an ultra-light body made of Indian rosewood. What immediately strikes you is the instant responsiveness – a veritable explosion of sound with great depth and plenty of warmth. The craftsmanship is impressive in its attention to detail, with top-quality woods, particularly the spruce used for the top.

In my workshop, I build classical guitars that draw inspiration from the great Spanish masters — Enrique García, Manuel Ramírez, and Santos Hernández. Their instruments have always fascinated me with their dark, warm timbre, complex tone, and soft, singing trebles. I strive to capture that same richness and depth of sound while exploring new ways to enhance clarity, projection, and responsiveness.

Since 2023, I have been building almost exclusively Doubletop guitars, a construction that allows me to expand the tonal possibilities without losing the essence of the traditional sound. My goal is to create guitars that invite the player to explore their full expressive range.
