Saeid Aboutalebian DT 2026 No 71 – Spain

Saeid Aboutalebian is an Iranian luthier based in Valencia, Spain. His double-top guitars are amongst the finest DTs currently available. This latest 2026 No. 71 guitar incorporates two significant modifications: the inner top, previously made of balsa, has been replaced with a flamed cedar top, and the bracing used is Friederich bracing. The result is breathtaking: power combined with both warmth and brilliance. This double-top guitar is every bit as good as the finest DTs (Wagner, Dammann, etc.), and counts the duo Resonantia (Bernadeta MIDZIAŁEK & Guy-Jean MAGGIO) amongst its admirers. So that you can hear for yourself the sound produced by the integration of the Friederich bracing into this double-top guitar, you’ll find a comparative video featuring a magnificent 1985 Friederich.

Description
Additional information

This new double-table design by our friend Saeid Aboutelabian features a table comprising three elements: an outer cedar table, an inner cedar table and, in place of Nomex or balsa, a hollowed-out cedar table with grooves, made as lightweight as possible. The aim is to achieve a lightweight, all-cedar table that is more responsive. Another major modification is that the bracing has been replaced with Daniel Friederich bracing, renowned for the brilliance and roundness typical of Daniel Friederich guitars.

The bass tones are rich, as one would expect from a double-top guitar, but the trebles are bright and round, exactly as on a Daniel Friederich. The blend of tradition and modernity is a real success here. To convince you, you’ll find a video review by Philippe and a comparison with a stunning 1985 Daniel Friederich.
