Constantin Dumitriu 2020 dec. lattice

We have been blown away by the first Constantin Dumitriu’s lattice guitar that we received earlier this year. This 2nd  guitar is even better than the first one.  The sound is loud, warm, and well balanced. The guitar does not have the boxy sound in the bass that some bad lattice have. Constantin implemented a top with a double-tension which is amazing and which is used to tune the top and increase the resonnances.  I try to explain the system of Constantin in the review video which will be released soon..  The playability is amazing. Last but not least a very affordable concert guitar! The important review video will be released next week.

Constantin is a very experienced luthier: he knows very well most of the great guitars and is very driven by innovation. He is mostly searching for a ‘natural/traditional’ warm sound and a great dynamic. He is very famous in Roumania and has 14 months of waiting time.

This guitar is very much inspired by the Greg Smallman guitar but Constantin has implemented some of his own recipes:

– There is an internal system below the top which allows creating a inner tension opposite to the tension of the strings. That system allow the player to adjust the tension by turning a key. I know that sound strange but it brings a lot to the sound quality. (have a look at the video)

– The back of the guitar is not in laminated wood but in solid wood for a more woody sound
– the sides are braced exactly like the Dominique Field guitar to increase the loudness of the guitar
