Daniel Friederich 1963 spruce No. 111- France

We have been asked many times to list a SPRUCE top Daniel Friederich. They are very rare and most of them have been made prior to 1970. Many of them are in bad condition or are sort of empty or with too many modifications which changed too much the guitar.

Here is a 1963 Daniel Friederich in very good condition. Only one owner purchased the guitar from Daniel Friederich. The guitar has a wonderful Spruce top and dark  South American rosewood for the back and sides. The guitar has been maintained properly. There has been a small repair in the back and tiny repair on the top (invisible). The Daniel Friederich neck usually has a U shape with  strong shoulders which make the guitar difficult to play. This one has a round shape neck (made by Daniel Friederich of course)  which is amazingly comfortable. Most importantly the guitar is very open, loud with a thick sound and the spruce mellow sound.

Here are some information of this No 111:

• Everything is original although the guitar might have been repolished some years ago.
• The guitar has some playware but nothing bad
• The Fustero tuners and bone saddle are original,
• 2 small repairs, one in the back hardly visible, one tiny on the top invisible close to the side (with no impact on the sound)
• Only one owner.

Whereas most of the Friederich of that time are at a very high price, this one remains at a reasonable price compared to the market price.

Although we know many Friederich owners who might sell one day or another their guitars, it has been very difficult to find a Daniel Friederich at a price that seems to be reasonable – although the prices were already very high. Daniel Friederich guitars are surely the best classical guitars, the demand is high and every month we receive emails from players searching for a Daniel Friederich,  surely the best value in terms of top classical guitars and that they will again re-evaluate over time.
