This progresso classical guitar from Dieter Hopf has been sold.
A classical guitar at half the price of the big concert guitar which will give you full pleasure.
This classical guitar Progresso is situated in the middle range of the classical guitar production from Dieter Hopf. This is the only double-top guitar from Dieter Hopf and the guitar has the same visual look as the famous Portentosa, just the South American Rosewood has been replaced by some Indian rosewood. The trebles are round and warm. the playability excellent.
The above top is in cedar, and the top underneath is cedar as well. This brings to the guitar a warm tone and a wide flexibilty due to the nomex. However the guitar reacts pretty much like a traditional guitar : you will not find the boomy projection that usually double-top have, instead a much more progressive sound which will suit all the players used to traditional guitars.
We have tested both spruce/nomex/cedar and cedar/nomex/cedar, and conclude that there is very little difference at least with the Progresso model. That is due to the thiness of the tops.
The first impression when playing this classical guitar is the pleasure and the feeling to play a top instrument with large volume, lots of flexibilty and singing trebles. The balance is great ann easyness obvious.
A classical guitar at half the price of the big concert guitar which will give you full pleasure.
A nice entry in the world of the concert guitar at a reasonable price. A clever choice for those who don’t not want to spend all their savings.
