This number 61 has the pure sound of the early Domnique Field. Dominique and Robert Bouchet share a lot of things in common. Dominique’s guitars are of course different from Robert Bouchet’s. Dominique Field guitars are hard to get just because they have this magical classical guitar sound that everybody is dreaming of. Dominique Field is famous for his guitars who are representing with Robert Bouchet et Daniel Friederich the best of the French lutherie. The number 61 typical of the guitars that Dominique use to build. In 2011 he modified the way he was building the sides.

This guitar remained unplayed for a long time. Everything is original. A crack has been professionally repaired and is hardly visible.

Here is some history on Dominique Field.

Dominique Field was born in 1954 and studied law and classical guitar. At the age of 23, he built his first guitar in 1977 under the guidance of Pierre Jaffré. In 1974, he met Robert Bouchet and this was to be the beginning of many exchanges with the master. In 1982, Robert Bouchet asked him to look after the guitars of some of his longest-standing clients, and he was thus able to study a large number of the master’s instruments.
In 1986, Robert Bouchet died, and his wife Andrée entrusted Dominique with a few tools and personal objects in memory of him, including Les cahiers d’Atelier.
Dominique Field now lives in Greece and makes very few guitars.
