Very rare, a wonderful fully restored early romantic guitar from Pierre Marcard from 1830 /40 which has an amazing additional top just in the middle of the guitar. This ‘early double-top’ was made to increase the guitar sound – and that is really a success: the sound is thicker than for a usual romantic guitar. A must for those who want to play the 19th century guitar piece on a perfect romantic guitar from a famous master.
We have from time to time requests from players who are looking for early romantic guitar which could be played without any work to do on the guitar. This Marcard has been fully restored with, we guess a fingerboard which has been reworked to give the guitar a great playability. The condition is great.
Pierre Marcard made guitars in Mirecourt in France. This one is typical of the early romantic guitar from the beginning of the 19th century. The guitar has a true innovation with a double-top positioned parallel of the outside top just in the middle of the side. The second top vibrates as well and produce nice overtones and a longer sustain.
A rare guitar, which is perfect condition for playing in a big hall.
