Giannis Paleodimopoulos is surely one of the best Greek guitar makers from his generation. His lattice calssical guitars are played by famous concert players. He makes two classical guitar models: one named Bella which is a lattice braced guitar and the other one named ‘double-bottom’ which has his back doubled with an inner top. The inner top modifies the nature of the overall guitar overtones. We have chosen to show first the Bella lattice classical guitar. It is a huge guitar with a strong personality. His classical guitars are played in Germany, Switzerland, Cyprus, Portugal, Korea, Sweden, USA, Croatia, Serbia, Mexico, Turkey and Greece.
A slightly curved top
This classical guitar has a lattice bracing without any carbon. The top is very thin and shows a curved form around the bridge to increase the wood response.
Adjustable saddle
The classical guitar has an adjustable saddle which can be ‘slid’ to adjust the action of the guitar..
Exquisite craftsmanship
The classical guitar has a cedar top and the back and sides are in nice Indian rosewood (Dalbergia Latifolia) which is arch-backed. The top has nice chevron elements around the sides. It is French-polished with shellac. The top is always delivered with a finish of shellac.
Some information on the luthier Giannis:
Since 1988 he has devoted himself to building classical guitars, using high quality materials and his long-term experience on the subject, and achieving successful results. In 2007 he won the bronze medal (3rd Prize, in the 1st Classical Guitar Making Competition “Cremona Mondomusica”– Italy, where the 1st Prize was not assigned). Dominique Field, Matthias Dammann and Vincenzo De Bonis were but a few of the members of the jury of the competition, under the artistic direction of the maestro Giovanni Puddu.
