Here are some information on Jean-Maris Fouilleul borrowed from his website : ‘I was lucky to grow up in a family environment where music was part of everyday life. It was not unusual to wake up to the sound of a Bach fugue that my father played on the organ.

Music has always been a privileged space for discovery and fulfillment for me. In addition, there has always been a workshop at home for working with wood. My father himself participated in the creation of his organs. In the 1970s, he also began making a harpsichord. It was my first real look at the world of violin making, before making my first guitar in 1979.

From 1983 I began a personal journey aimed at creating my own instruments. It took me 11 years to create what I then considered to be the synthesis of what I had seen, heard and done.

In 1989, I obtained the title of “Meilleur Ouvrier de France”, recognition by my peers and in particular one of the most famous among them, Daniel Friederich.’
