This wonderful Robin Moyes guitar has found a new home. Contact us to be informed on the next one in 2017
When we think about Australian concert classical guitar-makers, three names come to mind: Greg Smallman, Jim Redgate and Simon Marty. With Robin Moyes we are delighted to be able to offer classical guitars that contain all the features of Simon Marty’s guitars. Simon Marty and Robin Moyes invented the radial barring concept together and totally adapted the classical guitar’s characteristics to offer us some outstanding guitars.
Robin Moyes does not make Smallman type classical guitars. His classical guitars use an almost carbon-free radial barring and are very similar to the guitars made by Simon Marty, with whom he has perfected this technique.
Robin’s guitars are different from classical guitars with lattice barring, but offer the same power and surprising projection. The harmonics are rich and have an incredible resonance. The high notes are sustained for a surprisingly long time, while the bass notes are very well balanced.
The result is a very elegant, tuneful tone. There is a certain brilliance. The adjustments are perfect and the sound spectacular. A cedar top and stunning south American rosewood guitar from Robin. His classical guitars use an almost carbon-free radial bracing and are very similar to the guitars made by Simon Marty, with whom he has perfected this technique. A powerful, very well-balanced tone, premier-quality materials and meticulous guitar-making, with a cristal clear notes and huge string separations.
Maybe one of the most beautiful sound which has a unique voice among the modern guitars. Robin pays a huge attention to details and makes a wonderful lutherie using numerous wood bindings and very figured woods.
