Michael Cadiz is a luthier – raised in the US and based now in Austria – who has mostly 2 types of models: the ones which are very close for some iconic guitars such as Romanillos or Hauser, and one Concert model which is including his own take of the work of a lot of different luthiers. This Michael Cadiz guitar is what I would call a ‘modern’ traditional guitar offering a big voice with deep basses and crystal-clear trebles. The playability and the craftsmanship are top-notch for a 1.5 kg guitar.
Michael Cadiz is originally from Baltimore in the USA where he studied and played guitars with the best – Michael Nicolella, Jean-Pierre Billet and Sergio Assad – and learned how to build guitars with some famous luthiers such as Robert Ruck. Since 2016, he is based in Austria in Graz.
Here is some information borrowed from Michael’s Website about his concert model guitar: “My Concert model is the result of studying and drawing inspiration from the work of many different luthiers. It is my attempt to reconcile the allure of late-nineteenth-century Spanish instruments with the higher string tension, body, brilliance, and projection of a modern guitar. These guitars have a large dynamic range, variety of timbres, clarity, and balance.
