Thomas Eichert lattice 2025 – Germany
Discovered in 2023 at the Colblence Festival, Thomas Eichert builds magnificent guitars equipped with a lattice bracing: these guitars are halfway between traditional German guitars and Australian lattice guitars. The bracing is checkered with carbon reinforcements, and the back and sides are doubled. The previous model had a spruce top, but this one, with its cedar top, is more powerful and fuller-bodied. The sound is traditional, with a warm tone and amazing balance. The construction and playability are astonishing. The guitar’s look is resolutely modern and classy!
Here’s how Thomas describes his guitar: “powerful sound, warm singing highs, fast attack, excellent selectivity, in short, everything you need to fill a concert hall with his sound. I only use air-dried wood that is at least ten years old, or even twenty years old or more. Like a membrane, the soundboard must be able to amplify and diffuse the vibrations of the strings in a balanced way. To achieve this, the top is worked in different thicknesses depending on the type of wood and its strength, and stiffened by an inner bracing to support the tension of the strings.”
