Dan Kellaway lattice guitar is available in stock
Last spruce classical guitar from Dan Kellaway lattice was a killer .. we have ordered a cedar top which should even better. Dan Kelleway lattice classical guitar are one of kind, an in-between a Greg Smallman and a Simon Marty. A true discovery.
Generally speaking here is what some people says about Dan kellaway lattice guitars : ‘The new generation of lattice braced Aussie guitars are superior to our ear over the Smallman balsa and carbon fiber bracing method. This guitar has all the subtle colors of a traditional guitar build but has astonishing power and sustain. Dan’s lattice design (his traditionally built fan braced guitars are also available) has a deep bass resonance with a throaty growl if summoned, something he accomplishes by expanding the effective air volume inside his substantially deep guitar body. It’s a thrill to hear it and is a unique element of his work.
Here are the comments of Dan Kellaway regarding his Dan kellway lattice classical guitars :
‘My Lattice braced classical guitar has evolved over two decades to arrive at a significant stage of development.
It is made using only traditional timber but follows many ideas developed by the best modern Australian makers.
No balsa or carbon fibre are used in this construction. I also attempt to limit the weight while still utilizing the molded back and other enhancements.
Engelman’s Spruce is used because it is midway between European Spruce and Western Red Cedar in hardness , strength and tonal qualities.
My aim here is to provide a middle ground between Smallman and Marty with a very sweet tone in a loud full blown concert instrument. Here is the ultimate lattice braced full bodied Concert Guitar. This lattice contains no carbon fibre but is instead reinforced where required with cloth tape soaked in glue. There is no balsa wood used inside this instrument. The bracing material is the same as the soundboard itself. This uniformity of timber is more sonorous than a mix and provides great clarity and focus on the note.’
