Loud, warm-sounding, with a great command and a lot of musicality. The playability is amazing and the sound amazing of beauty. If you are looking for a high-end DT guitars (Dammann, Wagner, Muller, Blackwell, Kobs, Tolz), here is your chance.
Jeremy Cooper is 51 and has been a full-time classical guitar builder for 21 years. He started building Nomex double tops in 2008 and migrated to Cedar stick-core and then to Balsa stick core tops in 2015-17, after coming across an Antonious Mueller Guitar. He still builds a very occasional solid top guitar or Nomex core, but rarely.
This model sports the same design features as the two guitars built for the illustrious brothers back in 2022. A Balsa-core double-top as well as a mahogany neck with elevated, African Blackwood fingerboard (for more density to drive more string energy into the soundboard, giving the guitar more sustain) and V-jointed head. (Named so because it is the model the Assads are both concertizing on now.) The difference being the wood selection for the back, sides and soundboard which is Ebony.
Here is the story of the Brazilian model:
Odair Assad has been playing on Jeremy Cooper guitars since 2005.
In 2021, Sergio, on his own (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) came to Tucson. He had been teaching on UA Guitar professor, Tom Patterson’s Cooper. Sergio told to Jeremy it was the most powerful guitar he had ever played “that still sounded like a guitar.” Subsequently, he and his brother both ordered guitars on the condition that they were as good as Tom’s. Sergio was happily amazed, and said they were both better. That they were both simply “magic!”
