Luthier John Price No. 318 – 2012 repaired top

Here is a great opportunity to acquire for less than half price a repaired John Price guitar.

We all know players with guitars that have been accidentally damaged. That is the case of the No. 318 John Price guitar. The top has been strongly damaged and very difficult to replace by a new one by John Price – moslty because of how the guitar is constructed. So the owner decided to have the guitar repaired by Regis Sala who is our luthier who maintain all our guitars. Regis did a fantastic job regluing the top, using only existing material and without adding any new material apart from the glue. The result is amazing, the top is as light as before the accident and the glue has sort of stiffen the top. The sound is as loud as before but surprisingly rounder and warmer.

There are a few examples of repaired guitars that sounds better that the orginal model. This repaired one is not better just sliglly different in sound but in any case below the original one. The tone color is the same but whereas John Price guitars tend to have clear trebles. The sound of this one is warmer and darker which really is very pleasant.
