Here’s a guitar with all the attributes of an Australian lattice guitar: structured back and sides, curved back, thin top, balsa crescent bracing enhanced with carbon threads, and an internal structure to reinforce the sides.

“I’m Paula, and I’m a classical guitar maker. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I moved to Italy, where I set up my guitar workshop. My specialization is in both traditional classical Spanish guitars and Australian school “Lattice bracing” contemporary systems, which combine back and side laminated construction with an elevated fingerboard.

I attended music school for a few years, and later, out of my own curiosity about musical instruments and different kinds of wood, started gradually approaching instrument making. Initially, my experience began with repairing stringed instruments. I then fully immersed myself in the world of instrument making. Luckily, I met several guitar masters and builders in Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and France, who generously gave me the opportunity of sharing their experiences with me and who instilled me with this great passion for instruments. My style of guitar making mainly focuses on continuously searching for sounds and objects that best represent me in every new guitar.

I am proud and honoured to say that I am the first female to have achieved 1^st prize in the prestigious 4th Antonio Marín Montero Guitar Building Competition Award in Granada, Spain, organized by the European Guitar Foundation in October 2021.

In each of my instruments, I try to capture certain individual features of the specific musician and their personal preferences to represent them with an instrument that precisely defines them. Each instrument and every component of my guitars is entirely handmade by me, using high-quality resonance woods, which allows me to offer a richly harmonic guitar with good volume flow and sustain.”
