Rafal Turkowiak Opus Prime DT 2024 No 675
In 2022, we listed a Turkowiak ‘Queen of the guitar’, which rather surprised us. For Rafal’s new guitar, we asked him to come and test and compare his guitars with our available double-tables and lattice. Rafal and his family came in 2023, and analysed all our guitars in detail and listened to the differences in sound. A year later, Rafal’s guitars have been redesigned and improved. The innovations that make Turkowiak so distinctive are still there.
This guitar, No. 675, offers the traditional Turkowiak devastating look but with increased sound density and a roundness that is full of elegance. The guitar seemed rounder to us, with beautiful tonal colours. It’s surprisingly comfortable to play. A great double-top with stunning aesthetics and a captivating sound at an unbeatable price. Rafal Turkowiak has modified his double tops to make them rounder and softer, and has also renamed and reorganised his models, which are now divided between the Opus Prime, Opus Virtuoso and Opus Magnum. The guitars are different, of course, but the differences largely concern the woods used. The innovations that are at the heart of Turkowiak’s success are present in all the ranges.

We are a family-only company. I build the guitars with my two adult sons luthiers: Nikodem & Tymoteusz.
I would also like to tell you a little more about our biggest achievement which is the world patent ‘Acoustic Tubes’ – the neck is absolutely hollow inside (with a special resonant material) thanks to it the musician hears sound not only from the guitar body but also from the guitar neck. The sound is richer, sustain longer and the neck much stiffer. We are also the only ones in the world who use natural Baltic amber as an inlay material – for head plates and inlays. The usual waiting time for the players is 7up to 12 months.
