In the Australian guitarmaking, the radial bracing guitars are sort of mix this the other Lattice sister guitars. If some parts such as the back and sides are similar to the lattice guitar (arched-back), the top is much thicker and the bracing has a sun shape starting around the bridge. Only 3 makers are really using Radial bracing, all of them related to Simon Marty luthier. Here we have tested against the legendary José Ramirez 1a a Jesse Moore guitar. Jesse Moore works with Simon Mary. They share the same workshop and the same tool. As a result the guitars of Jesse Moore are very close to the one of SImon Marty.
The sound of all the radial bracing guitars is always awesome, very spacial wilh a long sustain and a delicate tone.
Hope you will enjoy the comparison.

Jesse Moore is a young classical guitar maker who had classes with the luthier Simon Marty. This Spruce classical guitar top has been made in Simon Marty’s workshop and as you can guess this classical guitar presents many of the qualities of Simon Marty. Compared to the one that we had in 2014, this one seems more opened but still with the charming voice of the ‘radial’ bracing guitars.
We have made a few comparative classical guitar videos but we use them sparingly because each classical guitar has its strengths and weak points and the videos only put forward the sound for the listener and not what the musician could feel. Philippe strives to show the whole sound palette that each instrument can offer. Comparing two classical guitars only on the sound characteristics is to disregard the comfort of play and the capacity of the instrument to sublimate the musical intentions of each guitarist. The most beautiful palette of colours will not deliver a beautiful picture without the art of the painter and his brush stroke. Comparing classical guitar “deux a deux” means putting emphasis on differences and obliging the listener to choose. A rich method of teaching to ‘educate’ his ear knowing that the final choice will be based on a series of compromises to seek the right balance in sound colours.
