We just received a very nice preowned classical guitar from one of the best Australian luthier John Price. The guitar has been made in 2013 and is in very good condition. As good as when we originally sold the guitar in 2013, just a little more opened with a lot of overtones. How is very guitar compared to the new ones ? John Price is one of the most consistant luthier.

The luthier John Price specializes in making an arched, brace less back classical guitars, designed to maximise strength and allow better airflow inside the soundbox to enhance the projection of the instrument markedly. It has a ‘focusing’ effect on the classical guitar’s overall sound, and minimizes the dampening effect when the classical guitar is held too close to the body. We will shoot of course some new videos, but to keeo you waiting here is the videos shoot in the 2013 when we received the guitar. As I said same marvelous sound, just more opened.

” There have been many changes to methods of construction in the development of the classical guitar over the years. Utilising both musicianship and cabinet making skills, I take an intuitive approach when designing and building these instruments. My unique approach to the construction of the soundboard and the lattice that supports it greatly enhance the volume, tonal range and flexibility of nuance required in the modern style of guitar.

By coupling this type of soundboard with an arched, brace less back, sustain and projection are also greatly enhanced.

All of these features are complimented by a consistency in the set-up of the guitar resulting in an appreciable ease of playing offering the performer a greater scope of musical expression and interpretation. »
